UK games market fell 17% during 2012 despite digital growth
The Entertainment Retailers Association has published its full report for 2012, and it states that the UK games market fell 17.4% overall during 2012.

A report to be published by Entertainment Retailers Association later this morning is expected to announce that digital game sales were up almost 8% in 2012, equating to sales of over £500 million.

Report: Videogames outselling other forms of physical and digital entertainment in the UK
The Entertainment Retailers Association has been busy crunching some numbers related to the entertainment industry in the UK, and after the smoke cleared from its calculators, it found that in 2010, videogames outsold music and DVDs considerably.

ERA reports that UK videogame market is worth £2b

According to the Entertainment Retailers Association, the UK videogame market shot up 21.1 percent last year leaving an industry worth two billion pounds in its wake.
“If we look at the first three months of 2009, the pattern of games sales growing and video remaining static is continuing,” said ERA director general Kim Bayley amid reports that 2009 won’t be able to repeat the feat.
“One would expect games to grow and video to remain broadly flat – meaning games will overtake or knock at video’s door by the end of 2009.”

ERA: Videogames UK’s fastest growing entertainment retail sector of 2008
The Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA) has announced that videogames is the fastest growing entertainment sector in the UK at retail level.
The statement comes off the back of reports that the games market recorded unit sales of 82.8 million in 2008 which is a 17 percent rise from the previous year.
According to Reuters this growth was driven by the enormous popularity of Nintendo Wii.
