300+ classic DOS games available in-browser
If you’re over the age of 20 and can afford to lose a few hours today, check out RGB Classic Games. The website plays host to over 300 DOS games emulated via the magic of java, so you can just play them in your browser. Apparently all the games – including such absolute treasures as Earthworm Jim – are “freely distributable because they are shareware, freeware, or because the copyright holder has officially and legally released all rights to the public domain (abandonware)”. Nobody tell Pat about this.
Thanks, PC Gamer.

Rumour – SCEA-Sega meeting notes confirm PS2 games for PS3, DC games for PSN, more
Either this is bullshit or someone’s just dropped an enormous bollock. A document’s appeared on what looks to be Sega’s PR FTP site detailing a supposed meeting between SCEA and Sega on August 5.
It includes this:
PS2 emulator for PS3 (confidential)
- SCEA wants to sell all PS2 titles on PSN (GTA Vice City/Sonic/etc)
- For co Marketing money show PS3 controller on TV ads – similar to EA Madden Spots, NCAA, etc…
And this:
DC Digital Titles
- If we provide a list of DC titles SCEA will let us know which ones they’re interested in having exclusively.
- If we give them a long period of exclusivity they’ll give us more marketing support.
Sega’s just declined to comment. We’re still waiting on SCEE’s response.
Get the full thing after the break. Thanks, GAF.

Sony patents Cell-based Emotion Engine emulation

Sony’s patented an Emotion Engine emulation system for PS3′s Cell processor.
Meaning? That PS3 could play PS2 games without any hardware changes, in theory.
Get details and diagrams from SiliconEra.
What? PS3 price cut, Firmware 3.0, PS3Slim and PS2 emulation all before the end of the year? What’s that?
Thanks Robo_1 and Blerk.
