El Shaddai tease is for social spin-off
The teaser that appeared a while back that suggested a sequel for cult classic El Shaddai was on its way is, in fact, for a social spin-off game called El Shaddai Social Battle. The game sees you, according to GameSpot, “build a party of up to three angels to partake in quests to climb up to the top of a tower, mostly through turn-based conflict.” Players are encouraged to team with other angels to fight against those guarding the tower.
The game will arrive on Japanese social platform Gree.

PSA: El Shaddai demo out now on console networks
Hit up the US PSN or Xbox Live today and you can grab a demo of Ignition’s stunningly beautiful action game, El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron.
The game features badass angels beating things up with a variety of unique weaponry, and has become a sort of cultural force in Japan. Probably worth a look, then.
El Shaddai is due in July in the US, and September in Europe.
