Want to write for Edge? Here’s your chance

edgee

Edge is looking for a new writer, as you can see on its site.

Is this you?

Passionate about games, you will have a good understanding of the Edge brand and an extensive knowledge of the videogame industry and its history. You will use strong writing skills to create engaging, intelligent and informed copy. Ideally you will have an extensive track record of published work, in print and/or online.

Solid organisation and time management skills are essential, as well as the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines. You will be a confident communicator and be keen to contribute story ideas to the magazine and website.

If so, knock yourself out. You’ll get a “competitive salary” if you win. Good luck!

Thanks, mescalineeyes.

It must be good. Edge, gaming’s last true bastion of tight-fisted reviewing, has awarded Uncharted 2 a mighty 9/10. As good as Might and Magic: Clash Of Heroes, apparently. We jest. Again.

EDGE back up on App Store

edge2

Mobigames’ EDGE is now available again on Apple’s App Store. Yours for £2.99.

The game fell victim to Tim Langdell and his amazing trademark squatting, and has been in limbo for months.

EA challenged Langdell recently, saying none of his claims to the “edge” name were valid as he wasn’t currently using it for commercial purposes.

Maybe he got the hint.

Thanks, EG.

Tim Langdell resigns from IGDA board of directors

igdalogo1

Tim Langdell, the trademark troll behind the recent Mobigames Edge fiasco, has resigned from the Independent Game Developers Association board of directors. This comes shortly after IGDA members started petitioning for his removal.

Prior to taking the hint, Langdell abused his position by harassing anyone who used the name “Edge” as a game title. He hasn’t used the trademark to create a game in over 15 years, yet — as evidenced by the recent Mobigames attempt — he’ll sue the pants off anyone who does.

Good riddance, we say.
