Running With Friends is Eat Sleep Play’s latest

Twisted Metal developer Eat Sleep Play has released a social endless runner called Running with Friends. Published by Zynga, the free-to-play iOS title is available on the App Store now. Traditionally at home to a more mature audience, Eat Sleep Play had to tone down its gory plans, but VentureBeat reports the game remains unusually competitive and includes destructible environments.

Twisted Metal joins PS3 downloads this week

Twisted Metal arrives as a full download on the US PlayStation Network in this week’s update, according to a recent PS Blog podcast. The downloadable version will be $40, and Polygon reports the retail version has dropped in price to match.

Axel releasing for Twisted Metal tomorrow, watch Sweet Tooth invade Starhawk

Eat, Sleep, Play has confirmed Axel will be available to all Twisted Metal players when the free game patch releases on April 18. He was previously available through pre-order and comes with his “signature” Crowd Control attack and the War Wheel alternate special attack. Twisted Metal dropping issues to be addressed this week

David Jaffe has taken to his blog to discuss last week’s update to Twisted Metal as well as network connection issues and issues with dropping games. He said the team is continuing to work on the network issues and the player dropping issue – which is a server-end problem he said. Another patch is coming this week. Jaffe also posted a Q&A created by a Twitter follower of his which should help folks stop having network connection issues if the tutorial posted applies to your specific issue. Watch the video below, in which he also discusses XP tuning, skins, a website update, “plus a bit more.”

Eat Sleep Play has released a new tutorial video for Twisted Metal, and it teaches “key tactics” such as the EMP Blast and Absorption Shield, and how to pick a really nice sidearm. Twisted Metal is out February 14 in the US and March 7 in the UK. The demo will stay live until February 13.

Twisted Metal demo due in next week’s PSN update.

The promised Twisted Metal demo will arrive on the PlayStation Network on January 31, Sony’s Sid Shuman confirmed in the latest US PS Blog podcast. The demo, which is multiplayer only, has not been confirmed for other territories, but should arrive during the same week if it’s coming at all. Eat Sleep Play’s revival of the classic vehicular combat series is due on February 14 in the US and February 17 elsewhere.
