Nintendo has launched a Miiverse announcement community for Earthbound, which suggests it’s got further plans for the Mother franchise than the recent Virtual Console re-release.

Nintendo has announced that Earthbound (aka Mother 2) will be available through Wii U Virtual Console for $10 today, around 5pm. The game was originally released in 1995 for SNES and is the first digital release of the game in North America. Nintendo announced its availability through a short Nintendo Direct it failed to advertise this morning – which can be watched below.
