Earth Defense Force 2025 has been given a western release window of February 2014 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The D3 shooter sequel hit Japan in July, and a post on the PlayStation Blog confirms that all DLC will be making the jump with the core game, although not all have been dated. In the meantime, a number of content packs have been revealed as pre-order bonuses. The EDF series is about fighting off giant alien insects.

Earth Defence Force 2025 has received a big batch of screens, courtesy of Sandlot. Known as EDF 4 in Japan, the game hits PS3 and XBox 360 in February and features giant spiders and dragons that seem to be getting freakier by the instalment. Check them out here.

Earth Defense Force, assemble! Somehow or other we are under attack by giant insect aliens again, and as usual everyone else is uselessly dying. Cue the arrival of Air Raider, who appears with a Metal Gear Solid homage to save the day. The recently delayed Earth Defense Force 2025 is headed to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in early 2014.

Earth Defense Force has been pushed back from a planned launch this year to a February 2014 release. To put a positive spin on it, it’s now only 11 years early instead of 12.
