Gearbox: “Soon, we’ll talk about,” the next Duke Nukem game, “but not today”
Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford said during a community panel at PAX Prime that the firm would “soon,” start talking about creating a new Duke Nukem game, but for now the firm wants to focus on releasing DLC.

Report – Gearbox to reboot Duke Nukem after Colonial Marines wraps
Gearbox is reportedly set to reboot Duke Nukem after development on Aliens: Colonial Marines ends, according to the same OXM rumour wrap that cited Fable IV for a 2013 release this morning. The reboot will come with Duke Begins, the project that Gearbox was working on before taking over development on Forever after being in dev hell for 15 years. After announcing it took over development on DNF, the Texan developer said it had became the rights holders of the IP. Via CVG.

Duke Begins was being developed by Gearbox

Take-Two Interactive has revealed via new court records that Gearbox Software was the developer for Duke Begins.
The game was originally revealed via a court filing by 3D Realms.
Duke Begins was apparently part of an agreement between Take-Two and 3D Realms in 2007 with Gearbox handling development.
Since all the court hoopla, the title has been sidelined “for the time being” but has not been canceled entirely, according to the new court documents.

Three Nukem games confirmed for iPhone

Three Duke Nukem games are to release for iPhone, 3D Realms’ Scott Miller has told Shacknews.
“We have several more iPhone games on the way, including three unannounced Duke Nukem games,” said the developer.
3D Realms was recently forced to ditch Duke Nukem Forever after the game’s 12-year development ran into funding issues.

Announced, detailed, and soon – according to Shacknews — delivered; Duke Nukem XBLA is an exemplary figure in this otherwise delay-heavy industry.
The undeniably 3D adventure will blast its way onto XBLA on September 24, showing another game starring a certain unrealistically muscular, wise-cracking FPS hero how it’s done. Really, where is Serious Sam 3 anyway?

Max Payne producer working on Duke Nukem movie
Missed this yesterday. According to this Kotaku piece, Max Payne movie producer Scott Faye is working on a Duke Nukem movie.
“I’m working diligently at making a Duke Nukem movie scenario that will live up to the character and its import in the videogame world,” said Faye.
“As is the case with all of my game adaptations, I’d rather not make the movie than make a poor adaptation.”
More through there. Don’t expect to find a release date, though.

Apogee Software’s return brings Duke Nukem trilogy to DS and PSP
Apogee Software just confirmed its return to the scene by announcing the full Duke Nukem Trilogy for DS and PSP.
“Apogee Software is producing the Trilogy under an exclusive license agreement with 3D Realms and MachineWorks Northwest LLC. The Trilogy is comprised of three episodes: Critical Mass, Chain Reaction, and Proving Grounds.
“This marks a new beginning for a famous publisher with a history of market-making innovation,” said Apogee boss Terry Nagy. “I can’t think of a better character than Duke or a better franchise than the Trilogy to usher in a new era for Apogee.”
