Gearbox has announced that the Hail to the Icons Parody Pack and its four new multiplayer maps for Duke Nukem Forever will be available starting next week on Tuesday, October 11. Those who joined the First Access Club before Duke Nukem Forever launched will get it free. Those who didn’t get in early, can purchase the pack for 800 MSP or $9.99 on PS3 and Steam. Additional updates to all versions will be released on the same day, which will not only add support for the new content, but will also add various optimizations and bug fixes.

Gearbox has posted a survey asking participants for their input on Duke Nukem Forever. According to the introduction, “this is your chance,” to tell the developer how you feel about the game. You may participate in the survey whether you have or have not played it. Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford said during a community panel at PAX Prime the firm would start talking about a new Duke game “soon,” but for now the focus is on releasing DLC for Duke Nukem Forever. The list of knocks against Duke Nukem Forever is long and varied, but Gearbox is about to give one Duke’s much-beloved boot. (Sadly, it’s not the lack of Duke’s much-beloved boot.) “Among the changes coming to PC are a new expanded inventory option that allows you to carry up to four weapons in the single-player campaign, Valve Anti-Cheat System (VAC) support, push-to-talk voice chat, the ability to adjust FOV plus other fixes and improvements that are still being tested,” said a post by community manager Chris Faylor. So there you have it, Duke fans. Go nuts. Chew gum, kick ass, and commit unspeakable crimes against good taste.
