Kinect Party is the sequel to Double Fine Happy Action Theater, which both Pat and Mike hailed as an excellent use of Kinect and one of the few truly kid-friendly games available. If you own both you can unlock the original’s activities in the sequel.

Double Fine has confirmed to Joystiq that its Kinect exclusive Happy Action Theater will be released on Xbox Live Arcade February 1. Announced back in October as a game for “three-year-olds or college dorm rooms full of drunken 20-year-olds”, it was originally slated for a holiday release before seeing a delay. It features 18 mini-games lasting a few minutes each, offering a cycling playlist which turns your living or dorm room into a virtual playgrounds.

Tim Schafer’s first project since Brütal Legend is an all-ages Kinect title called Double Fine Happy Action Theater.
