Dota 2 patch adds Medusa, conatins UI, gameplay and bot changes
Dota 2 has been updated by Valve with not only a new patch, but a new hero: Medusa. Attacks doled out by Medusa include the split shot, mystic snake, and a mana shield which absorbs 50% of damage, and of course stone gaze. Valve and Blizzard settle dispute over use of DOTA
Blizzard and Valve have announced a mutual agreement over the use of DOTA. Valve will continue to use DOTA commercially, while Blizzard’s DOTA will be called Blizzard All-Stars.

Blizzard appeals Valve’s right to DOTA 2 trademark
Blizzard has brought a case to the US Patent and Trademark Office’s Trial and Appeal Board challenging Valve’s right to trademark the word DOTA.

DOTA 2 beta: Press to be added in “a few weeks”
Valve has confirmed to VG247 that it’s preparing to add journalists to the closed DOTA 2 beta, following news that the game itself won’t ship until next year.

Tourney letter states Valve’s presence at gamecom is for DotA2
It looks as though Valve’s presence at gamescom next month is so the developer can show off DotA2, as well as hold an on-site tournament for professional DotA players, if a letter sent to the website DOTA-Two is any indication.

DotA 2: “We’d be pretty hard-pressed to improve” on the core gameplay of DotA, says Valve
Valve has said Defense of the Ancients 2 will maintain the core gameplay of DotA along with the “actual game rules” as the firm would be “hard-pressed” to improve upon the main mechanics.
