The ever vigilant Internet sleuth Superannuation has dug up some more domain registrations, and they pertain to a possibly racing game of sorts from Disney. The domains registered vary from having a .net to .com on them, and carry the monikers DisneySpeedster, DisneySpeedsters, DisneyRacers, DisneyRacing, DisneyKart, DisneyKartRacing, and DisneyKarting. Lots of Disney in there. There’s even a Disney Speedsters Twitter account, but it hasn’t tweeted yet. Sounds, to me, like Disney is possibly looking to create its own version of Mario Kart or Diddy Kong Racing, only with Disney characters. I’m no psychic though.

Disney-owned LucasFilm has suddenly made a pile of new domain registrations which see to have a Star Wars theme. Although it’s quite possible they’re related to upcoming movies, TV shows and other media, the timing – so close on the heels of a deal with EA – is pretty suspicious. File this under “interesting, if uninformative” and visit Fusible to pick through the new domains.

EA has just gone on a domain-buying spree, picking up the domain names for Battlefield 13 right through to Battlefield 20.

EA has made a number of domain registrations for something called Plants vs Zombies Adventure, as dug up by industry gumshoe Superannuation. The registrations were all made in early March. There’s no indication whatsoever what it might be, but given PopCap’s recent liking for Facebook spin-offs of its properties, like Bejeweled Blitz, I’m putting $5 on “social game” – however it may be worth dusting off this old rumour about a multiplayer shooter set in the PvZ universe.

EA has been buying up all sorts of domain names related to the phrase “Supreme Heroes”. Regular domain watchdog Fusible turned up 11 different registrations made on March 5, all of which are empty at present. The registrations were made openly under EA’s details rather than masked by a dummy registrant, so we can probably expect some enlightenment soon.

Insomniac Games has filed a trademark for a project called Sunset Overdrive. Other than the usual “computer game software” classification lingo, along with a note that it’s an “on-line computer game,” there’s not much else to go on. A NeoGAF user also found a domain registration for the project, which was registered by the firm’s brand director Ryan Schneider. We’ll send a mail and see if we can get anything else on this, but in the meantime, the developer’s shooter FUSE is due during Q2 2013. Thanks, Dark Zero.

Microsoft has gone a little mad buying out just about every version of XboxGold.com it can find, Fusible reports. Naturally this has led to some furious speculation over whether we have a name for the next Xbox console at last, but don’t get too excited; “Xbox Gold” sounds a heck of a lot like “Xbox Live Gold”, so it could just be a defensive measure against scam websites and similar. The next Microsoft console is codenamed Durango and is frequently nicknamed “Xbox 720″ but we honestly have no idea what the damn thing will be called.

Fusible has turned up a huge pile of Ubisoft domain registrations for something called Assassin’s Creed: Initiate. The publisher isn’t saying a blessed thing about the registrations, so speculate entirely at will. $5 on a social tie-in with Assassin’s Creed 3, like the awesome one for Brotherhood which let you train your recruits, but don’t forget Ubi is big on cross-media opportunities like novels, short films and comics, too.

Assassin’s Creed 3 hits PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in late October, PC in late November, and Wii U on a magical day of wonder when Nintendo’s console finally becomes a thing you can buy.

Head on over to this bare-bones website and surprisingly funny Twitter feed to learn all we know so far about Sir Painhammer. This outspoken gentlemen turned up in one of Siliconera‘s regular domain registration trawls as a new effort from Ubisoft; the registration was made alongside that of Might & Magic Raiders, revealed at gamescom. We’ll see if Ubi can tell us anything yet.

EA has made a mysterious pair of new trademark filings in the usual gaming categories, for something called JetSet Detectives and something else called JetSet Secrets. (The trademarks differ from Sega’s Jet Set radio, which separates the two words with a space, so don’t get any wild ideas.) As spotted by Fusible, the publisher also took out an enormous pile of domain registrations for both titles. We’ll query it, but don’t expect much of a response, and remember that EA is making a strong push for the social market with its PlayFish and Popcap teams.

Fusible has uncovered a couple of Ubisoft domain name registrations for something called Might and Magic Heroes Online. The publisher’s gamescom line-up includes a couple of new free-to-play announces, and as you may recall, the most recent entry in the long running Heroes of Might and Magic series messed with the titling formula to release as Might and Magic Heroes VI. Gamescom takes place August 15 – 19 in Cologne, Germany.

Fusible reports the domain name StarCraft.com may finally be the property of Blizzard, 15 years after the first game’s release. The domain recently changed hands and was re-registered to Mark Monitor, which has acquired several domains for Blizzard in the past. There doesn’t seem to have been a legal challenge so whoever the new owner is, they probably shelled out to kick off the RV buyer’s guide and boat site owners. Don’t rush off to take a look just yet; the domain hasn’t been updated yet, and it’s hosting some pretty dodgy-looking stuff.

Fusible notes that Ubisoft has snapped up a number of domain names related to Watch Dogs and the word “movie”. It’s probably just a defensive move, what with the recent talk of other Ubisoft properties going Hollywood, although it’s worth remembering that Ubisoft has a bit of a passion for transmedia initiatives.

Warner Bros.’s regular registrar has snapped up a domain for “Scribblenauts Unlimited”. Warner Bros and 5th Cell aren’t saying anything, of course, so we have no idea what it could be – officially. If only there were some huge gaming event just around the corner at which announcements could be made, and one of the most interesting topics to be covered were a new console which includes a tablet controller you can draw on. Wouldn’t that be nice and neat?

Fusible noticed that Ubisoft registered the domain faceyourinsanity.com, which it is almost guaranteed to be something related to Far Cry 3 thanks to an alleged marketing survey from earlier in the year. That’s all. There’s nothing there. It’s a slow news day. Far Cry 3 is due in September on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Chalk up a new victory to Microsoft’s legal team, as Fusible reports the National Arbitration Forum has shut down another website purporting to offer Halo 4 beta keys. Halo4Beta.biz is now in Microsoft’s hands, evincing from us a stern reminder that Halo 4 beta keys have not been officially distributed through any channels, so don’t go giving away your personal details to anybody claiming to have one.

Fusible reports the domain registration companied used by Activision Blizzard has acquire blackops2.com, the only missing entry from a spate of registrations right up to Modern Warfare 6 and Black Ops 6. Regardless of whether Treyarch has a sequel in the works for the 2010 smash hit Call of Duty: Black Ops, it makes sense for Activision to keep hold of the domains to protect its brands, so don’t get too excited – yet.
