Eidos on Doctor Who: “We are exploring a number of potential directions for future games”

doctorwho2.jpg

Speaking to videogaming247, Doctor Who executive producer Pete Hickman has revealed that discussions with the BBC on future games based on the sci-fi franchise are in progress.

“We have an ongoing relationship with the BBC and are currently exploring a number of potential directions for future games,” he said.

Eidos’s Doctor Who game is a Top Trumps title slated for PC, DS and PS2. The title is based on the exploits of the most recent Doctor, David Tennant, but plans to include previous Time Lords could well come to fruition in the future.

“For this edition of the game we are focusing purely on David Tennant’s portrayal of the Doctor,” said Hickman. “We are considering plans to do something based on previous Doctors from both the new and classic series, so send in your requests for favourite Doctors and classic series monsters!”

Post any Doctor-related requests below. No details on date as yet. Hit the link below to read more from Pete and Tom Heaton, the game’s external designer.

Doctor Who likely for XBLA

See here. The Eidos Doctor Who game for PC, DS and PS2 is a Top Trumps title, and from the sound of it designer Tom Heaton think it’d make a good addition to XBLA.

“We are looking at versions for other consoles which could incorporate lots of other goodies,” he said. “We are big fans of UNO on Xbox Live.”

As reported earlier this week, Doctor Who is going to be shown off soon.

Eidos Doctor Who game “not too far away” for PC, PS2 and DS

doctorwho.jpg

Eidos has just confirmed that the previously known Doctor Who game on its books will be revealed soon and is in development for PC, PS2 and DS. Firm details are under wraps at the moment, but it doesn’t sound as though you’re going to be waiting too long.

“That is correct,” a rep told videogaming247 when asked if promo work was starting on the title. “We haven’t announced a release date at the moment. It’s not too far away. We should be showing it to [press] quite soon.”

“It’s for PS2, PC and DS,” the spokesperson added.

Nothing else is known of the game thus far. All we can say is that we hope it’s all about Tom Baker and not that new one with the “trendy” haircut.
