NIS release schedule mentions Disgaea 3 for Vita
A release schedule for NIS that was posted on Yahoo! Japan has listed Disgaea 3 for a release on PlayStation Vita as a launch title. The release schedule has since been pulled from the site, but not before it was caught. The original version of the RPG launched back in February 2009 for PS3 in Europe after NIS hit a publishing agreement with Square Enix for the continent.
Thanks, Siliconera.

Disgaea 3 getting Trophy patch on July 16

Disgaea 3 will get a Trophy patch on July 16 in the US.
It will add over 50 Trophies but will make your previous game saves unusable.
No word on a European release for the patch, yet, but with the game being out so long and forcing you to start from scratch just for Trophies, we’re unsure how many will care enough to download it.
More through Joystiq.

According to this Siliconera story, Square Enix is to publish Persona 4, Disgaea 3, Rhapsody DS, and Disgaea DS in Europe.
PS2 RPG Persona 4′s scheduled to release in the spring.
Bit odd on those Nippon Ichi games: that’s normally Koei territory.
More through there.

New Disgaea 3 screenshots released
Over at Watch Impress. They look pretty terrible to us, to be honest but it’s all about the gameplay, right? And that’s pretty darn hardcore.

Disgaea 3: interview, screens movie
IGN’s just posted a ton of new stuff on Nippon Ichi PS3 SRPG Disgaea 3, including new shots, a translated interview and a trailer you can see after the break.
The interview begins with this gem of a quote from lead designer Masahiro Yamamoto, so you know all’s well: “I planned to make the story of Disgaea 3 as stupid as Disgaea 1 was, since Disgaea 2 was comparatively serious.”
The game’s coming out next year in the US, but still hasn’t been confirmed for Europe.
See for yourself.

Disgaea 3 to get DLC
According to this Siliconera piece, Nippon Ichi’s releasing a Japanese update for Disgaea 3 which includes ten super-powerful playable characters. You get them to join your group by having Mao at a certain level when you beat the game. You can see the available characters – or nine of them, at least – here. The tactical RPG is promised for western release for PS3 later this year.

Disgaea DS dated for Japan
Here. The DS version of Nippon Ichi’s strategy RPG will release on June 26, and will make it to America this summer. No news on a European release, but it’ll almost certainly happen at some point, as will Disgaea 3 for PS3, we’re privately assured.

Koei has “no idea” if Disgaea 3 will release in Europe
Following last night’s announcement that Nippon Ichi’s mega-hardcore RPG Disgaea 3 will release in the US for PS3, Koei UK – publisher of all Nippon Ichi titles in Europe – has confirmed there are no plans to bring the title out here as yet.
“There’s currently nothing,” said a spokesperson. “I don’t even know if we’ll publish it or not. It’s just been announced for the US at the moment. No, absolutely no idea at the moment, no.”
In case you didn’t get that, it means “no”.
Don’t be too amazed if this does turn up eventually, however. Koei has published plenty of Nippon Ichi’s RPGs in Europe previously, including Phantom Brave, Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness for PSP and Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana.

Disgaea 3 heading to US PS3
According to this, NIS has confirmed that RPG Disgaea 3 is heading Stateside for PS3.
The turn-based, tactical game “makes a bold new step towards the next generation console with a whole new cast, story and game system.”
This is a Koei affair in Europe, and no announcement’s been made as yet. Disgaea is a game for people that want to pit themselves against amazingly hardcore Japanese things. Is that you? If so, we’ll ask if it’s coming over here tomorrow.
