Square Enix has confirmed that Nippon Ichi’s PS3 SPRG Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice is to get a PAL release – namely February 20th.
“The forthcoming release of Disgaea 3 marks Square Enix’s commitment to delivering memorable titles to new audiences,” said John Yamamoto, president and chief executive officer of Square Enix.
“Nippon Ichi has created a wonderful world full of bizarre characters and deep, addictive gameplay. I am delighted that we have added Disgaea 3 to our growing 2009 line-up and I hope everyone enjoys playing this unique and rewarding game.”
The game is due out sometime this year but if you can’t wait that long, CVG has posted a score of screenies for your perusal.

Whoops. IGN’s given Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice 6.7/10, which in real terms means “fail.” Snip:
If you don’t have a huge budget and you need to get a lot of play time out of a single title, Disgaea 3 is certainly a great option, as you’ll be playing it for months — even years. But having to sacrifice so much in terms of graphics and mechanical implementation is unnecessary. Ultimately, I think Absence of Justice is just the repackaging of a formula that’s passed its prime.
Make of that what you will. There are four new movies here, too.

Square Enix has announced that the PS3 exclusive, Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice will be released in PAL territories in 2009.
From the release:
Welcome to the twisted world of the Nether Institute, Evil Academy where good is bad and bad is good. In this school a good student is somebody that excels in delinquent activities such as skipping classes or not doing their homework, whereas a bad student arrives to school early and does their homework on time.
This is the setting for Disgaea 3, a rich and deep Strategic RPG that’s not afraid to display a very bizarre sense of humour. It’s a winning combination that will leave you laughing one minute and fighting cunning enemies the next. Where special attacks can deliver up to 100 million points worth of damage and the power of the PS3 is used to deliver 2D sprites, albeit lots of them!
Full thing after the drop.
