Star Trek: The Video Game publisher Namco Bandai has unleashed Digital Extreme’s launch trailer into the wild, in time for the game’s launch across North America today.

Star Trek: The Video Game is out soon, like, next week soon. In it, you can co-op as Spock and Kirk as they fight off the Gorn – who are more than just B-movie style monsters wearing evening dresses this time out. The game has a storyline original to it, and you can hear all about it in the video below. Game’s out on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 across North America from April 23 and across Europe on April 26.

Star Trek: The Video Game is out next week, and today, Paramount Pictures released a video featuring film actors Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, John Cho, Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban and Anton Yelchin which lent their voices to the game. Warframe, the cooperative online free-to-play third-person shooter with randomly-generated missions from Digital Extremes, has over one million registered players participating in the open beta – which has only been live for around 14 days. William Shatner, the original face of James T Kirk, returns to facedown an old foe in this new trailer for Digital Extremes’ Star Trek, a tie in to the rebooted film series. This is pretty much the best thing. Star Trek is due on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on April 23 in the US and April 26 in Europe.

Most developers use PhysX to ensure that when their incredibly boring assets are destroyed, at least the animations are interesting to look at. Not Digital Extremes; the developer has taken Nvidia’s middleware and done some absolutely dreamy things with it, adding gorgeous colourful particle effects to the spectacular special skills in Warframe. Warframe is a co-operative online free-to-play third-person shooter with randomly-generated missions, sweet ninja swords and a variety of unlockable weapons, upgrade, special abilities and classes – all from the makers of the excellent The Darkness 2. You are invited to join the Tenno this weekend, from 12:00PM EST on February 15 to 9:00AM EST February 19, thanks to an open beta event. Warframe’s beta is well underway but Digital Extremes continues to add new content. Coming up in the latest update you’ll find a new external environment full of caves, at least one new Warframe, and a very cool new way to get around.

Star Trek hasn’t got a release date yet but Namco Bandai is offering a pre-order incentive for those willing to take a gamble on the schedule. The Digital Extremes effort comes with five additional costume sets, including some which up your stealth abilities, if you slap your money down early. Expect the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 title within a few months of the release of the new film, Into Darkness, in May.

Star Trek: The Video game has been dated for Europe and Australasia by publisher Namco Bandai. The official box art for Digital Extreme’s co-op shooter has also been revealed. Cheer up lads!

Warframe, a free-to-play, third-person PvE shooter from Digital Extremes, has entered closed beta. I’m not in it yet. The following news post may be a little tetchy.
