worldoftanks

GDC Europe organizers have announced a World of Tanks developer session from Wargaming.net, and mobile a postmortem on mobile title Diamond Dash. Wargaming.net CEO Victor Kislyi will discuss in his session titled “World of Free-to-Play – Triple A by Wargaming.net,” how the F2P business model was “essential to the success” of World of Tanks, and how the model could eventually edge out boxed retail. As part of the Smartphone & Tablet Games Summit, Wooga lead product manager Christopher Parschat will reflect on how the firm brought to mobile in the session: “Postmortem: Bringing Diamond Dash to iOS.” GDC Europe takes place August 13-15 alongside gamescom in Cologne, Germany. PopCap and Wooga pull titles off Google +

bubble island

PopCap and Wooga have pulled titles off Google+, less than a year after games launched on the social service. Wooga plans to pull all three titles Bubble Island, Diamond Dash and Monster World, by July 1. PopCap’s only title on the service, Bejeweled Blitz, will be pulled as early as next week. Both firms are pulling the titles due to the lack of support for the social networking service as compared to Facebook. After the pull, 40 games will remain on Google + from makers such as Zynga and Rovio. Thanks, Social Games Observer. Via Polygon.
