Blizzard: Offering Diablo III for free is a show of “gratitude,” to WoW player base
Blizzard COO Paul Sams has said the firm is offering Diablo III free to World of Warcraft Annual Pass subscribers as a way to “show an amount of gratitude,” to the player base.

BlizzCon 2011: Diablo III panels touch upon consoles, Book of Cain, gameplay, random dungeons
Blizzard held Diablo III panels today at BlizzCon, which focused on the lore in the RPG, and well as the game’s Auction House, gameplay mechanics, skills, and crafting.

Poor Brenna. Her fingers must still be smarting from the shorts post she did this morning. Lady Luck was apparently on my side today for a change, as my shorts post is rather minuscule in comparison. I won’t get used to it though. Lady Luck took a walk on me ages ago.

Diablo III closed beta footage shows wizard gameplay
VoodooExtreme were lucky enough to be invited to the Diablo III closed beta, like Pat, and have posted a video playthrough of its time as a wizard with the super-anticipated RPG. It’s around 50 minutes long, but you don’t have to watch the entire thing to get an idea of what to expect. Watch it below the break.

PayPal for Diablo III and Battle.net announced by Blizzard
Blizzard has announced that PayPal will be its payment-service partner for the Diablo III auction house, in most regions. It will allow players who trade with real-world currency the ability “to cash out the spoils of their battle-torn adventures via a PayPal account.” PayPal will be added in several regions soon as a payment option on Battle.net for digital purchases of Blizzard products and services. Region-specific information and further details are to be announced in “the near future.”
Meanwhile, the Skill Calculator for Diablo III, which allows gamers to preview and refine their ability set, is live.

Blizzard still in early stages of Diablo III console project, “very, very serious” about doing it
Long ago, in the innocent, youthful days of February, Blizzard fielded talk about a Diablo III console port. It was just a job listing, said the secretive giant, and “not an announcement.” Now, though? Well, no promises just yet, but we’d say this is definitely the next best thing.
