Diablo 3 as you know, will contain difficulty modes such as Normal, Nightmare, Hell and the newly added Inferno mode. To give you an idea of the difficulty these modes produce for the player, Blizzard has released a new video explaining the matter, but sadly never once mention just why they feel the need to be so sadistic. We’re joking, obviously. Some people like the challenge. Diablo 3 is slated for a Q2 release this year, which would put it on store shelves sometime between the end of March and May. Activision Blizzard has released its full-year 2011 and Q4 financials, and has said to expect Diablo III during Q2 this year, which would place it somewhere between March and June, and a new entry in the Call of Duty franchise with “meaningful innovation” is expected this year.

Blizzard has continued making changes to the Diablo III beta, and the most recent change to the game has been the removal of Scrolls of Companion and Scrolls of Reforging.

Steve Parker, senior producer on Diablo III, has announced  via Twitter he is no longer working at Blizzard. “Hey Twitter, I’m no longer working at Blizzard or on D3,” read the tweet. “I’ve had a great 5 years there and those guys are going to do an amazing job with Diablo.” Parks never said where he was going next, only that he was “looking forward to bigger and better things.” Further tweets suggest his split was amicable as it had been a “pleasure” to work on the game, he said. Parker’s just moving onto something else, basically, so best of luck to him. Meanwhile, in case you didn’t know already, Blizzard is looking for a senior producer at the grade one level for Diablo III. If you’ve got what it takes, apply. Thanks, BlizzPlanet.

South Korea has finally given Diablo III a rating, which will see the game release in the country, rated for those 18-and-up. The RPG’s certification was put on hold earlier in the month, due to concerns raised by the Korean Game Rating Board over the title’s auction house feature. However, in order to get the game passed in the country, Blizzard has to removed the RMT auction house for the Korean version. Still no date, but this is still good news for South Korean gamers. Blizzard has gone live with a 15 year Anniversary website for Diablo, which offers up a timeline, game overview, a retrospective, various developer interviews, and more. In one of the interviews, Diablo III director Jay Wilson states that the studio is “almost done with Diablo III,” which is a “fitting celebration of the 15th year anniversary for Diablo.” Wilson concluded the talk on D3 stating: “We are getting it to you as soon as we can.” Check out the website through the link. Blizzard has announced the hardbound edition of Diablo III: Book of Cain will be released on December 13 for $35.00 in the US. A localized version for other regions will be released on February 7, 2012 internationally.

Jay Wilson has said Blizzard’s goal with creating a console version of Diablo III is to make it feel as if “it’s natively made for a console.”

The European end of Battlenet has word that Diablo III beta keys will be handed out via the game’s official sweepstakes page on Facebook. Every Monday, 200 entrants will be picked to receive a key, and every fourth person will hit will be handed an additional key to give a friend. Diablo III launches for PC and Mac next year sometime. Blizzard has announced the closed beta test for Diablo III has begun. The company has started issuing the first wave of invites and plans to add more participants over the course of testing.

Blizzard has announced that PayPal will be its payment-service partner for the Diablo III auction house, in most regions. It will allow players who trade with real-world currency the ability “to cash out the spoils of their battle-torn adventures via a PayPal account.” PayPal will be added in several regions soon as a payment option on Battle.net for digital purchases of Blizzard products and services. Region-specific information and further details are to be announced in “the near future.”

Meanwhile, the Skill Calculator for Diablo III, which allows gamers to preview and refine their ability set, is live.

Blizzard has provided some information regarding two of the magical artifacts Dibalo III players will acquire in the game.
