Nintendo re-releases 50 WiiWare demos
Nintendo has seemingly re-released 50 WiiWare demos to the service. As correctly detailed by D’Toid, Nintendo tried a trial service with demos for specific titles back in 2009 before, soon after, dropping them altogether. The titles ended up returning to the WiiWare service in late 2010, but again slowly started disappearing one at a time. Now, demos for titles such as the Bit.Trip series, World of Goo, And Yet It Moves, Cave Story, Final Fantasy, and others are back online. Might want to fire up the Wii real fast in case the demos disappear again. Full story’s at the link.

Speaking with Kotaku, however, EA’s Jeff Brown promised that we needn’t worry about forking over cash for “traditionally free” bite-sized portions of game content.

Nintendo to offer WiiWare demos starting this month

Nintendo plans to launch demos of different WiiWare games later in the month.
This bit of info came straight from Satoru Iwata during Nintendo’s financial briefing, stating that it was to help stimulate sales of offerings on the service.
Initially, it will cover only a few titles and it is also unknown at this time whether the option will make it outside of Japan or not, so we’ll contact Nintendo and see if we can find out more for you.

But you do now, and that means Rob’s efforts have been worthwhile. Great job, Rob.
