New Dead to Rights: Retribution video shows Jack’s furry friend

A new video for Dead to Rights: Retribution has been released, ans shows off Shadow, Jack Slade’s furry dog buddy.
It’s posted below the break, courtesy of FileFront.
The game’s out for PS3 and Xbox 360 on April 13 in the US and April 16 in Europe.

Screens – Dead to Rights: Retribution

Namco has released 30 new screens for Dead to Rights: Retribution, and we have posted them below the break for you.
The screens show off the cover system, Shadow mauling, stalking, and pouncing enemies, Jack Slate kicking a guy in his junk, and another showing him shove shotgun down a guy’s throat.

ESRB listing counts swears uttered in Dead to Rights: Retribution

The ESRB has rated Dead to Rights: Retribution, and unsurprisingly gave the game a Mature rating. No big deal in and of itself, right?
Funnily enough though, it provides you with information on how many times certain swear words are uttered.

Jack: Shooting and punching people.
Shadow: Mauling people.

Dead To Rights: Retribution screens released from GamesCom

Dead To Rights: Retribution has some new screens for it posted over on CVG from GamesCom.
Game looks rather good, and has a “hybrid combat system” allowing for third-person shooting, hand-to-hand and controlling your dog, Shadow.
It’s out in 2010 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Dead to Rights: Retribution slips into 2010

Namco Bandai Partners has announced that Dead to Rights: Retribution has slipped into 2010.
Bummer.
On the coat tales of that are the following release dates that were also announced.
- September 2009: Katamari Forever (PS3), Family Trainer: Extreme Challenge (Wii) and One Piece Unlimited Cruise 2 (Wii).
- October 2009: Cities XL (PC) and Magna Carta: Tears of Blood on Xbox 360
- TBC: The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf , Star Trek Online.

Namco wants to globalize development of Western-focused games

Namco Bandai’s director of PR and marketing, Todd Thorson, has said that the globalization of its Japan-based business remains a key focus and is using Western developers to create games.
“We truly [want to] globalize the development of Western-focused games,” Thorson told Gamsutra at E3. “It happens on two levels.
“Not only are the guys in Japan developing things there that are so well known and have a fantastic track record, they’re really shifting their focus to a worldwide audience, making sure the products they make appeal globally.”
One such Western developer is Volatile Games which is working on Dead to Rights: Retribution.

A few new screens and trailer for Dead to Rights: Retribution have popped up on Shacknews, showing in-game city locations and lots of rain.

Jack smells a conspiracy in Dead to Rights: Retribution

There’s a mini dev diary of sorts for Dead to Rights: Retribution posted over on Eurogamer Germany.
In it, the developers chat a bit about recreating the franchise for a brand new audience, and reinventing it at the same time.
Says the storyline starts at “year zero” for Jack Slade and Shadow, and Jack must get to the bottom of a conspiracy.
A single control system will give you the ability to use hand-to-hand combat along with guns during gameplay, and not only will you be issuing commands to Shadow, but you get to play as the trusty canine companion too.
The game’s due sometime this year.

New Dead to Rights confirmed for Europe via Atari

Atari just confirmed it’s to release Namco’s Dead to Rights: Retribution in Europe later this year.
The action reboot’s releasing for PS3 and 360.
The game’s big “thing” is a “hybrid combat system” mixing shooting and hand-to-hand brawling.

Dead to Rights: Retribution gets first shots and details

1UP’s put up the first screens and details of Dead to Rights: Retribution, the Namco action reboot for 360 and PS3.
According to a press release, “Dead to Rights: Retribution will form an origin story portraying key events that shape and define Jack Slate’s character including how he and Shadow first come together as partners against those who would bring the once great city to its knees.”
Shadow’s the dog, if you can’t remember the original games.
The gameplay hook this time around, according to Namco, is a “hybrid combat system” that mixes hand-to-hand combat with shooting.
