Dead or Alive 5 site offers explanatory character chart
Dead or Alive 5 seems to be no exception to the cardinal rule of fighting games, which is that the plots have to be batshit insane to explain why thirty people are smacking each other up and all of them can win. Understanding your bafflement, Tecmo Koei has released a flowchart explaining how the main characters relate to each other. Welcome to gaming in 2012. Dead or Alive 5 arrives on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in late September.
Thanks, Siliconera.

Quick Quotes: Team Ninja on why it’s not interested in DoA vs Tekken
“Itagaki might have left, but the hatred for Tekken is still around in the team [laughter]. So when we see Street Fighter X Tekken and those kinds of games… We’re coming out with Dead or Alive. We don’t need to rely on anything else to present Dead or Alive as a strong fighting game in the genre. We don’t need that kind of thing to prove ourselves. We understand that Tekken has… It opened the way for 3D fighting games, we understand that it has a long history, we respect that history, but we’re coming in as a challenger to those 3D fighting games. We’re there to represent and take them on.” – Team Ninja studio head Yosuke Hayashi to VentureBeat.

Quick quotes: Harada saddened by Iack of Tekken trash-talking from Itagaki
“I’m thinking about Itagaki and when [former 1UP editor and Q Entertainment's James Mielke] was with you guys that was a big topic — the ‘what are your five most hated games?’ article where he said 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 were all Tekken, right? If Itagaki was still making Dead or Alive, I’d like to ask, out of all the current Tekken titles we have planned, what’s his favorite. His answer would probably be Dead or Alive anyway, and that he hates all Tekken, but it’d be an interesting question. In the past, Itagaki had always mentioned various things about Tekken and stuff, especially on 1UP in his articles with [Mielke]. And there were a few times when I got pissed at what I saw, but I’m kind of realizing that when I saw what he was saying — after he quit Team Ninja, I think he was asked about fighting games and what he thought, and apparently Itagaki said, ‘Well I don’t make fighting games anymore, so I’m not really in a place to comment on that’ — I felt kind of sad when I saw that.” – Tekken creator Katsuhiro Harada, speaking to 1UP about Dead or Alive creator Tomonobu Itagaki’s infamous trash-talking of the series.

Rumor: Dead or Alive 5 possibly in the works

A rumor circulating the net this morning has Tecmo working on Dead or Alive 5.
According to a retail source of Go Fanboy, the game is currently being developed for multiple platforms, which would mean it would no longer be an Xbox exclusive.
A while ago it was revealed that Koei Tecmo were working on a familiar franchise and the rumor that this title would no longer be a platform exclusive had everyone thinking Dead or Alive, to be honest.
Therefore if sources for Go Fanboy are correct, pixilated ladies with large bouncy bits will be bounding onto PS3 sometime in the near future.
As with all rumors, keep it has a grand hope within your heart until official word comes down from on high.
