Team Ninja boss Yosuke Hayashi has said it picked 3DS for Dead or Alive: Dimensions because it offered a “different perspective” on the series.

Tecmo Koei has released a bevy of screenshots for Dead or Alive: Dimensions. The game is out on 3DS in North America on May 24. GAME UK has it listed for the UK on May 20. Enjoy.

Tecmo Koei’s confirmed that Nintendo will distribute Dead or Alive: Dimensions in Europe, as well as handling marketing and sales. TK will still publish the game in Europe. Nintendo entered into a similar deal with Capcom with Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition earlier this year.

Dead or Alive: Dimensions will offer 3DS users daily downloadable costumes via SpotPass upon release, and some are quite smashing.

Dead or Alive is all about the visuals, amirite, which makes it doubly disappointing to learn that the franchise’s first 3D entry will drop to a sorry 30 frames per second when played with full stereoscopic effects. Aww.
