Anonymous sources have told the LA Times Sony wasn’t pleased by David O. Russell’s ideas for the upcoming Uncharted script, leading to the director stepping away from the project.

David O. Russell back on board with Uncharted film
Looks like director David O. Russell’s not out of the Uncharted movie equation after all. He had originally decided to instead direct a film based on Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
Poor Jane Austen. Rolling in her grave she is.
