Weekly MMO news round up: EQ bonus weekend, new EVE faction, Guild Wars I & II stuff

darkfall

The news this week in MMOs was a bit scarce, unless it was huge news that hit the front page – which a lot of it did.

However, there were other things going on: a new faction for EVE Online, bonus goodies for EverQuest II, content changes for Guild Wars, and a few other things you can read about on past the break.

TGS is coming up, so who knows what lies in store for us by way of new announcements.

Darkfall opening American server and getting patched July 7

darkfall

The American server for Darkfall will open on July 7 along with a patch full of new content, features,  PvE and PVP updates, and other goodies.

Players who are currently battling it out on the European server will have to wait three months after the American launch to transfer their characters.

“Characters from the European server can be cloned and moved without their possessions 3 months after the American launch,” wrote the game’s Tasos Flambouras on the official forum. “Certain restrictions and charges will apply, to be announced at a later date.”

To play on the US server, you have to buy the American Darkfall client. However, if you are a US player on the Euro server, you won’t have to – just get a transfer.

Thanks, MMORPG.
