Microsoft Studios VP Phil Spencer is of the opinion people shouldn’t be so focused on the 1080/720p and 30/60 fps debates going on at the moment in regards to next-gen, in fact, he has defended Xbox One, saying the focus shouldn’t be on the numbers in the first place.

If you’re coming down on the Xbox One side of the new console war, at least for this month, you’ll be happy to learn that Ryse is filled with cool (to Americans) accents and dramatic dialogue, and also there’s a part where a giant rock lands on some guys. You can see all that in this new trailer.

This is pretty cool. A team of six students from De Montfort University in Leicester used CryEngine to turn historic maps and engravings into a 3D recreation of 17th century London. Check out the video after the break.

Ryse: Son of Rome videos which were posted yesterday on Gamespot have been released to the masses. You can now watch them here, on the site, below. One details the game’s story, and gives you an idea of what caused Marius Titus to become so stab-happy, while the other tells the tale of Damocles and how he learned that virtue is its own reward for living a happy life and all that nonsense. He apparently didn’t know much regarding the strength of horse hair. Some screenshots are below as well. Ryse is a Microsoft-published Xbox One launch title due in November.

Ryse: Son of Rome has a couple new videos available over on Gamespot. We won’t embed those here, so you will have to click the link to watch. One details a bit of the game’s story, telling why Marius Titus became such a vengeful man while the other tells the story of Damocles, a figure featured in a legendary moral anecdote called “the Sword of Damocles”. The latter is toldf through animation. Ryse is a Microsoft-published Xbox One launch title due in November.
