Crytek will demonstrate upgrades to CryEngine 3, including “next-generation DX11 graphics and tools upgrades” at GDC next week along with advancements to the AI System and UI Actions.

THQ and Machinima have released a new video for Nexuiz, showing just a few of over the 100 Dynamic Mutators or power-ups featured in the game, which can change the way you play. Developed by Denver-based IllFonic and powered by CryENGINE 3, the game fast-paced arena FPS will be released as part of Microsoft’s House Party season on Xbox 360 February 29 for 800 Microsoft Points, and will be released later this spring on PS3 and PC. Prague-based developer Warhorse has announced it’s closed a licensing deal for Crytek’s CryEngine 3, which the firm will use to develop its unannounced RPG. Warhorse said the debut title from the studio will combine “open-world experience with a rich story and innovative gameplay elements.” Founded last summer, Warhorse is comprised of former members of 2K Czech and Bohemia Interactive as well as Dragon’s Lair author Martin Klíma.

MechWarrior Online will be built on Crytek’s award-winning CryEngine 3. According to a post on the game’s website, Piranha Bytes president Russ Bullock believes the tech will allow for “a truly unique AAA experience”.
The long-awaited return to a beloved PC gaming franchise was announced at the end of October as a free-to-play MMO mech sim which plays out the series canon in real time conflicts.
