Counter-Strike’s Overwatch task force has been ‘encouragingly successful’
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive developer Valve launched a beta for its community-driven ‘Overwatch’ Task force last week. The idea is that volunteers can covertly investigate claims of cheating during matches, and Valve has now stepped forward to say that the experiment is proving highly successful.

Counter-Strike map maker Diego Liatis could find himself sued by the Société de transport de Montreal (STM), after he recreated the real-life Berri-Uqam station in the game. Liatis faces a potential $50,000 fine plus court costs if he publishes the map publicly.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has received another new update from the patch-happy types at Valve. We only just reported on a weapon balancing patch that was implemented last week, but this new update nukes the Desert Eagle, and adds a new spectator mode into the mix. You can access it via the ‘Play With Friends’ menu using GOTV.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Super-Grind, part 2: Demolition, Lake
Here’s more Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, this time looking at Lake, a new map made specifically for Demolition. There’s lots of open space and flanking opportunities here, and the bomb point’s in the building, meaning windows and snipe-spots. Tricky.
