GamesCom had loads of cosplayers in attendance, so much so that the group was trying to break a Giuness world record for The Largest Gathering of Games Characters.

Over 400 cosplayers are expected to gather at the event today, to try and break the MCM London record of 376 characters.

Guinness representatives were dispatched, and planned to make each one count by having people write the name of the character and game they are from on a form, get a photo taken, and wait until the rest are counted.

Sounds fun. Waiting in a queue is always fun. Especially one that is over 400 people strong. Hopefully there is a rollercoatser ride at the end of the line. Doubtful though.

Russian cosplayers have taken the entire concept to a ludicrous level yet again, this time “doing” Fallout 3 with an OCD-level of dedication. Check out a ton of shots of the Brotherhood of Steel and other people that should have stayed in a videogame walking round abandoned eastern locales on English Russia.

The last game to get this style of treatment from the Russian mentalists was S.T.A.L.K.E.R. They may have been Ukranian, though. We don’t want to offend anyone. Especially not this lot.

The world record for the “largest gathering of people dressed as video game characters” has been beaten for what feels like the fiftieth time, with 376 cosplayers coming together at MCM in London last week to break the Expo’s previous record of 342.

God. A total of 342 cosplayers have beaten the world record for getting as many of their “kind” in one place, congregating in London to beat a record set in Germany last week.

It’s London Games Festival for the next week. Event boss Duncan Best said: “It was a bit touch-and-go for a while but the gaming community really stepped up to the challenge.”

The Germans managed a paltry 337.
