Rumour – God of War games being bundled onto Blu-ray, GoW III demo added as well
Colour us interested if true.
According to PSX, God of War and God of War II will be coming to Blu-ray in time for Christmas for the PS3 for anyone who hasn’t played the first games yet, thats if a tweet from a Sony Mexico employee is correct.
Thats all well and good, but whats to stop you from buying both games for the PS2?
Simple – the Blu-ray also contains a demo for God of War III. Earlier this year, a survey went out asking people what they would like to see in a GoW III collectors edition. GoW and GoWII for Blu-ray was one of then options.
Take with a serious pinch of salt as always,
God of War III is out March 2010 for the Playstation 3.

Harrison pushed for God of War 2 on PS3

God of War 2 director Cory Barlog has admitted in a 1UP interview that Phil Harrison questioned the wisdom of putting God of War 2 on PS2 instead of PS3, a tactic endorsed by now head of worldwide studios at Sony, Shuhei Yoshida.
The full quote:
Shuhei was handling a lot of the projects through all the studios in America. He was pushing for PS2, and I was kind of on the fence. PS2 for me was like, “We can make a really great game; we don’t have to catch up with the technology and start from scratch.” We could focus on just making a great game, hence the reason that it was bigger and just had more content, and we could focus on refining everything that we had.
But Phil had brought it up, “Why aren’t we doing this on PS3?” I was actually in a presentation for the game I think a year into it, or maybe eight months into it, and Shuhei and Phil and bunch of other Japanese executives were there. We did the whole dog and pony, and then the first thing Phil said was, “Very good, thank you. I just have to ask this, since it seems like the obvious question. Why are we not doing this on PS3?” And I was like, “Uhh.” I kind of looked over at Shu and was like, “You want to take this?” He was a big proponent of it, but in the end I think a lot of people were like, “It’s a smart move to do it on PS2.”
You must read these 1UP features. One’s being put live every day this week, running up the the God of War III reveal on Friday.

Barlog working on Mad Max game
Former God of War II director Cory Barlog is now working on a Mad Max game, according to this. Movie director George Miller confirmed the tie-in.
“Well, the first one will be a Mad Max game,” said Miller when asked the identity of the initial product of the pair’s partnership. “Because what happened was, we were all ready to go, within eleven weeks of shooting the next Mad Max movie, Fury Road. This was way back when the war in Iraq started, and that really threw this out for a whole host of reasons, not the least of which was that the American dollar crashed against the Australian dollar. And apart from that, just insurances, getting vehicles and stuff there on container ships – all that slowed down around the world. So we had to move on to Happy Feet, because that was going to take a long time.
“We were all ready to go on Fury Road, but instead of going off and shooting Fury Road straight away, I said ‘Okay, now that we’ve got that whole world prepared, let’s work together with somebody, if there’s someone out there.’ And that started off on the path of trying to get together with Corey. Not handing it off to some third party game developer as we did on Happy Feet, but to try to do it all as a piece, in the hope that we overcome that problem of making bad films from good games or vice versa.”
He added: “I’m delaying the movie in order to do a really good game. Normally what happens everyone’s scrambling to finish a game so it can coincide with the release of the movie. In this case, because I’ve got another couple of movies to make, we can wait and do it properly. That’s the theory.”
So now you know.
