EA apologises over “lust” Dante comp

EA’s apologised over its “Sin to Win” Dante’s Inferno Comic Con competition, saying the contest’s T&C wording had caused “confusion and offense”.
The contest asked convention attendees to commit “an act of lust” with an EA booth babe and take a picture for proof. A “Night of Lust” was promised for the winner.
While only a “special” person would actually read this as doing something illegal, some people got pissed off.
“‘Commit acts of lust’ is simply a tongue-in-cheek way to say take pictures with costumed reps,” said the publisher.
“Also, a ‘Night of Lust’ means only that the winner will receive a chaperoned VIP night on the town with the Dante’s Inferno reps, all expenses paid, as well as other prizes.”
Shame on you, EA. Shame.

Nintendo isn’t threatened by iPhone or PSP

Speaking to IGN, Denise Kaigler, Nintendo’s vice president of corporate affairs, has said the company sees zero threat in iPhone or PSP, because is applauds “any device that spurs interest in on-the-go gaming, because that helps expand a form of entertainment that has always been one of our core strengths”.
Kaigler went on to say that “consumers purchased 9.95 million hardware systems in the United States [last year], an all-time record for a portable system. On top of that they bought nearly 60 million games for Nintendo DS. Clearly people are still finding fun and interesting ways to spend their time with the system.”
With Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon coming in February, followed by Pokemon Platinum and GTA: Chinatown Wars in March and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time coming this spring, Kaigler concluded:
“Nintendo DS and the upcoming Nintendo DSi will continue to stand out with games and experiences that just aren’t possible on any other system.”
Good for you, Denise.

Win Bourne HMV special edition on PS3, 360, t-shirts, THE RESPECT OF YOUR FRIENDS
Sierra’s very kindly stumped up six copies of the HMV special edition of The Bourne Conspiracy, each with a t-shirt, to give away to VG247 readers in celebration of the fact the High Moon Studios game is out today.
This edition includes a extra CD and DVD of Paul Oakenfold music, so it’s well definitive. We caned the game last night and had a jolly good time kicking the living shit out of millions of gruff men, thank you very much – review’s on its way – so you should probably want to win one. Why wouldn’t you?
All you have to do is debase yourself by answering the following question in the comments below.
Q: Bourne is the perfect weapon. He’s a tool of the state. A perfect tool. Why are you a perfect tool?
For clarity, each winner gets:
- A copy of the game
- A t-shirt
We’ll announce the lucky few next week. Don’t forget to tell us if you want the 360 or PS3 version. All the t-shirts are large. We don’t care where you live. We’ll pay for stamps. Do bear in mind this is the PAL version, though. Good luck!

Prizes include a week-long trip to New York or Paris, Xbox 360 and Wii consoles and other stuff including original soundtrack CDs, t-shirts and art books.
The competition sounds like some odd chain letter affair, where you have to pass a virtual flame onto friends. The competition runs until July 31.
