Command & Conquer developer Victory Games has released a video diary called ‘Beyond the Battle’ that explores the history of the series, gameplay features in the new free-to-play game and other possibilities over the next few years.

Command & Conquer will add Red Alert, Tiberium timelines after launch
Command & Conquer is coming out as a free-to-play title later this year, courtesy of Victory Games. While it will launch as a game based on the C&C Generals world, the studio will add both the Red Alert and Tiberium timelines into the mix as further down the line.

Command & Conquer screens show Frostbite 2 warfare
Command & Conquer, the free to play strategy title from Victory Games has received a new batch of screens. They show plenty of unit types doing battle thanks to DICE’s Frostbite 2 engine. Command & Conquer 17 game Ultimate Collection detailed
C&C: Ultimate Collection has been unveiled by EA, drawing together the last 17 years of Command & Conquer titles into one all-encompassing package, which incidental includes 17 games. Purchasing the game also grants you early access to the C&C Geneals 2 beta in 2013.

C&C Generals 2 won’t have a single player campaign at launch but it will have a strong focus on eSports, BioWare has confirmed.

Command & Conquer Generals 2 now F2P via new Command & Conquer platform
Command & Conquer has been transformed into a free-to-play franchise, EA announced during gamescom, and Command & Conquer Generals 2 will be the first title launched under the new incentive.

Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances launches worldwide
EA has announced the end of beta for Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances, its browser-based, MMO-strategy game, and its the game is now officially live worldwide, in several languages. You can play it here. This is just one C&C game coming from EA, as Command & Conquer Generals 2, which uses the Frostbite 2 game engine, is also in development. Screens for Tiberium Alliances are below as well as a video.

EA wants your input to shape new Command & Conquer
It still hasn’t announced Command & Conquer 5, but Electronic Arts has started asking gamers (that’s you!) where the company should “improve” the franchise, fuelling the idea the next big RTS can’t be too far away.
