As well as confirming Fable II’s pre-release pub games for an August release today, Microsoft and Lionhead have also revealed that the RPG’s Collector’s Edition is to cost $80.
The super-version will include extra in-game content, although quite what this is isn’t confirmed as yet. From the press release:
Lionhead and Microsoft Game Studios also announced details of a limited collector’s edition of “Fable II” available for pre-order at retailers worldwide, for a suggested price of $79.99 USD. The limited collector’s edition includes: a bonus disc with a new behind-the-scenes making of video, collectible Hobbe figure, a LIVE trial card and additional in-game content (an Xbox LIVE account is required to access the limited collector’s edition bonus in-game content). The “Fable II” standard addition is also available for pre-order at a suggested retail price of $59.99. “Keystone,” “Spinnerbox” and “Fortune’s Tower” will also be embedded as part of the full retail copy of “Fable II” (limited collector’s and standard editions).

NCSoft’s announced plans to release a Collector’s Edition of Lineage II in Europe. The new SKU will cost £55 and release on April 25. Buy the boosted version of the Korean MMO and you’ll get 30 free days’ play, 14 days for a friend and some other free time. You get free time, basically.
On top of that, you’ll receive an art book, a soundtrack CD, some posters and a chance to win a limited edition figurine. It doesn’t get much better than that.
