ArenaNet has delayed the Guild Wars 2 World vs World changes to next month, according to game director Colin Johanson. Originally planned for release this month, the changes will now be applied in March. Other updates planned for the MMO include “continual optimization of game models and data compression” to reduce performance issues, reports

Guild Wars 2 developer ArenaNet saw the launch of its MMO hit by a string of server crashes, trading loopholes and security issues, and gamers – as are wont to do – gave them hell for it. ArenaNet’s game director Colin Johanson has shared his thoughts looking back at the game’s launch, and has discussed how it has learned from what happened to increase the game’s stability moving onward.

ArenaNet believes when a subscription MMO is more focused on making money by keeping players “chasing something in the game,” as long as possible, it not only ruins the experience but the fun as well.
