Banjo XBLA and CoD content available on Xbox.com [Updated]
The Rare remake of Banjo’s first outing is available to download from this page on Xbox.com right now, a full six days before it’s scheduled release next Wednesday.
The game costs 1200 MS Points and is 48Mb in size.
Also, the The M1A1 Carbine Rifle that was free for Call of Duty: World at War pre-orders can be downloaded from Xbox.com, here, in fact.
Better get in there quick before someone realises, though.
Thanks, Kotaku.
Update: Well that didn’t last long did it? The web page with the CoD content, though still listed as “Free” through the above link, now asks for a total of 99999 MS Points when you actually try and download it. Banjo, however, is still available early. Thanks, Alpha Male Stu.
Update 2: If you would have blinked, you would have missed it. Microsoft’s stealth ninjas have acted swiftly, and now Banjo XBLA costs 99999 MS Points too. Oh well, it’s available from Wednesday. Stop moaning.

Call of Duty WaW to be last iteration set in WWII?
According to this OXM piece, Call of Duty: World at War senior producer Noah Heller has hinted that the game could be the last in the series to be set in World War II.
“Since World at War was in development for two years, it was still in development when Modern Warfare… well, it hadn’t even come out yet,” said Heller. “So our path was a little bit set at that point but we also knew that we wanted to show the end of the war.
“I won’t let your readers read into the comment too much but we are showing the final battles of the Pacific and the European Theatre and that lets us put a close to the war,” he explained.
“I’m sure game companies will be making World War II games for years to come and World War II is a very classic war. But we’re happy that we put the war to bed.”
We’re saying nothing.

Treyarch gets CoD5, back to WWII?
We can’t clarify any of this with Activision, but this sourceless post claims Call of Duty 3 developer Treyarch will be developing the fifth game in the blockbusting shooter series, and that the setting will be back in good ol’ World War 2.
We’d take this with a pretty large pinch of salt until Activision says otherwise, especially given the Infinity Ward-developed, modern setting CoD4 just sold 7 million units and CoD3 was almost universally twatted for being “a bit rubbish”. Believe what you will.
