CoD: World at War to get “two, maybe three” untraditional DLC packs

callofduty5a.jpg

Speaking to MTV, CoD: World at War executive producer Daniel Suarez has confirmed that several pieces of DLC are going to release for the game next year, and that the content’s going to be something of a departure from the norm.

“We want to do at least — the hope is — potentially two, maybe three packs out before we’re all said and done,” he said.

“It’s not going to be what we’ve done traditionally. I’ll leave it a little bit mysterious.”

Suarez wouldn’t be drawn on specifics.

The game’s sticking near the top of global charts, so expect plenty of support in 2009.

According to this Kotaku report, next weekend means double XP for those owning the limited edition.

Both PC and 360 versions get the boost. The event runs from midnight PST on December 5 to December 12.

If you’ve got the 360 edition, you need to make sure it’s fully activated, and you only get the bonus if you’re playing in “Officer’s Club” playlists, apparently.

Banjo XBLA and CoD content available on Xbox.com [Updated]

xboxjpg.jpg

The Rare remake of Banjo’s first outing is available to download from this page on Xbox.com right now, a full six days before it’s scheduled release next Wednesday.

The game costs 1200 MS Points and is 48Mb in size.

Also, the The M1A1 Carbine Rifle that was free for Call of Duty: World at War pre-orders can be downloaded from Xbox.com, here, in fact.

Better get in there quick before someone realises, though.

Thanks, Kotaku.

Update: Well that didn’t last long did it? The web page with the CoD content, though still listed as “Free” through the above link, now asks for a total of 99999 MS Points when you actually try and download it. Banjo, however, is still available early. Thanks, Alpha Male Stu.

Update 2: If you would have blinked, you would have missed it. Microsoft’s stealth ninjas have acted swiftly, and now Banjo XBLA costs 99999 MS Points too. Oh well, it’s available from Wednesday. Stop moaning.
