North AmericanClub Nintendo members will be offered the chance to grab a charging cable for their 3DS XL from October 31. The cradles come in five colours – white, blue, green, red and yellow – and are priced at 500 Club Nintendo coins. Nintendo has not announced plans to sell the cradles separately, and has not indicated whether you’ll be able to choose a colour or will have to take pot luck. Like the 3DS cradle, the XL version has no particular function beyond making it a bit easier to get your portable on and off the charger. Club Nintendo members earn coins by registering their games with the service.

Games purchased and surveys completed while using the Wii U in Wii Mode do not contribute to Club Nintendo reward earnings, as spotted by NintendoLife and confirmed in a Nintendo FAQ. Nintendo cites a “system constraint” for the limitation, which seems a good reason to keep your original Wii sitting around for a little while longer.

The July offerings for Club Nintendo members have been announced, and instead of the usual three to four game selection that Nintendo provides users with, it’s fronted only two this month – Mario Tennis (150 coins, WiiWare) and Electroplankton Rec-Rec (100 coins, 3DS).
What’s surprising is that both the deals lapse before the month ends with Rec-Rec expiring on July 15, and Mario Tennis on July 22. Could this mean Nintendo might add new games later this month?
