American Club Nintendo bonuses listed

According to Nintendo, American Club Nintendo members who have earned 300 or more Coins (six Wii game purchases) have been granted Gold status and will receive a special 2010 calendar.
Those who have accumulated 600 or more Coins are now Platinum and entitled to a members-only bonus which includes the following choice of prizes:
- Doc Louis’s Punch-Out!! — this downloadable WiiWare game is available exclusively to Club Nintendo Platinum members. In this special download, you’ll be able to fight one-on-one against your coach, Doc Louis.
- Mario Hat — a “true-to-life” replica of Mario’s signature headpiece. Nintendo notes that the hat “may be big for small children.”
Personally, we would prefer the hat. Would look great with our Sunday best.

US Club Nintendo almost goes live
According to this IGN story, the American version of Club Nintendo went live briefly yesterday, showing off a few of the products punters will be able to get by registering their DS and Wii games.
Shit-your-pants exciting stuff seen was a Game & Watch Collection for DS at 800 “coins”, a DS game carrying case for 600 points, Nintendo Hanafuda cards, Mario Party and Animal Crossing playing cards, a Club Nintendo “hat” game rack and Wii remote holders.
The site was quickly pulled for some reason, to be replaced with a “coming soon” page.
No firm date’s been given for Club Nintendo’s US release.

US Club Nintendo rewards “weighted more toward physical goods”
The American Club Nintendo is going to be designed to allow fans to get actual, real things in the post, NoA’s Cammie Dunaway told MTV this week.
“It’s weighted more toward physical goods: more like the Japanese program than the European which is pretty much digital,” she said.
The US version of Nintendo’s reward scheme will release this year, said the exec, and will help with market research as well as rewarding punters.
“When you purchase a Nintendo product, you go on and you say that you’ve purchased a Nintendo product, you get points for that,” Dunaway said.
“You also get points for filling out surveys to talk about your experience with the product. You actually get points before you purchase, if you indicate an interest in purchasing… So it really helps us to gauge marketplace demand.
“As you collect points — these are actually gold coins — you’re able to trade them in for real merchandise.”
No fixed date yet. More through there.

Nintendo to erase Club Nintendo Stars
Nintendo has sent out an email to Club Nintendo members saying that all the Stars saved up as part of the company’s loyalty scheme will start to expire at the end of June.
“Per the Terms and Conditions of the Nintendo Loyalty Program, some users’ Stars will begin expiring at the end of June,” the mail reads.
“Stars that have been in your account for 24 months will expire at the end of the 24th month. Starting 1 June, you can log in to your Club Nintendo account to see if you have any Stars that are about to expire.”
“If you spend your Stars in June, the ones about to expire will be the first used for purchasing items. Learn more about the expiration at our Terms and Conditions page.”
Nintendo Stars can be exchanged for Wii Points although there are only a certain amount of points available on a daily basis. So if you can’t exchange them before June, you could simply lose them.
