App Store hits 40 billion downloads, Apple releases stats
Apple has released a set of mind-boggling stats today, underlining just how prosperous and powerful the mobile market has become in recent years. At 40 billion apps downloaded since the store launched, the App Store is positively booming and shows no signs of slowing down.

Supercell cashing in on free-to-play tablet titles
Finnish outfit, Supercell, has announced that its free-to-play iOS apps Hay Day and Clash of Clans are doing very well thank-you-very-much, grossing $500,000 in revenue between them each and every day. That leaves the tablet-focused mobile developer with $350,000 per day after Apple has taken its 30 percent, adding up to in excess of $10m per month.
Both Hay Day and Clash of Clans are primarily intended for iPad, but work just fine on smaller Apple devices too.
