Take-Two ships more than 22m copies of GTA IV
Whether or not Rockstar Games is hard at work on a sequel, Take-Two Interactive has paused for a moment to reflect on just how very well it has done for itself. The publisher has just released a bunch of sales data for Grand Theft Auto IV, and it’s none too shabby.

Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution App hits iPad

In case you have been living on another planet, you know that iPad launches in the States today for those that pre-ordered.
Well, those that are holding the shiny new contraption in their hands can get the Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution App for it.

Civilization sales hit 9 million worldwide

The Civilization franchise has sold over 9 million copies worldwide, Take-Two said today.
The news came out of the publisher’s Q2 earnings call.

Civilization MMO “really intriguing,” says Meier
Speaking to GameDaily, Sid Meier’s admitted that not only does he find the idea of a persistent Civ MMO exciting, but he’s actively planning how to make it work.
“I’m exploring lots of exciting ideas right now,” he said. “A Civ MMO is a really intriguing idea and we’re spending time thinking about how we could make it the fun, addictive experience Civ players expect. Beyond that I have some new ideas that are quite different from games I’ve made in the past – and that’s all I’m able to tell you right now.”

Bioshock and Civ MMOs mentioned, internets have kittens
In a presentation to the Bank of America SmidCep Conference, Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick has mentioned that MMOs based on Bioshock and Civ are “potential opportunities”. Teh internets have obviously gone bonkers for it, but there’s no confirmation that this will ever amount to anything. Obviously.
