Zynga tops DAU on Facebook with CityVille pulling 10 million a day
AppData has released figures today, showing the Daily Average Users of Facebook titles, and Zynga tops the list with five: CityVille, CastleVille, FarmVille, Texas HoldEm Poker, and Words With Friends. Good news for the firm, which is getting ready to launch its initial public offering. Figures range from 10 million for CityVille to 5.7 million for Words With Friends, with the later gaining 500,000 users in the last week alone.
EA’s The Sims Social came in sixth place with 5.6 million DAU, which hit 6.1 million DAU a month ago. Monthly Average Users for EA’s title have dropped from over 35 million to less than 29 million .Thanks, IndustryGamers.

CityVille still top dog on Facebook one year on
Zynga’s Cityville is one year old this week, and with 49.7 million monthly users, has been the most popular Facebook game for exactly that length of time.

The Sims Social bests FarmVille in daily active users
EA’s The Sims Social has more daily active users than Zynga’s FarmVille, according to current information from AppData. It now has 9.3 million DAUs, moving Zynga’s FarmVille into second place. The later’s CityVille, is still the most popular game on Facebook though, with around 14 million DAUs. EA CFO Eric Brown told Gamasutra that Sims Social players log an average 15 to 20 minutes in the game three times a day. Currently, the game has over 34 million monthly active users, which is up considerably over September 7, when it was nearing the 30 million MAU mark.

Zynga fires off cease and desist order over “ville” trademark, Blingville fights back
Unfortunately, you can’t sue games like Blingville for possessing the worst name ever conceived.
Zynga, though, may have come up with a slightly more valid reason.
