WildStar: Settler and Scientist content detailed with videos

Carbine Studios has released additional information on WildStar’s two remaining Paths: Scientist and Settler. Paths have been incorporated into character creation as well as integrated into the core gameplay. You can see how this works in the videos below as you get to know the Scientist and Settler a bit better. There’s some screenshots below in as well. Wildstar is expected later this year and you can sign up for the beta here.

Wildstar developer video demonstrates importance of movement, double jump

Wildstar has a new video in which developer Carbine Studios discusses gameplay mechanics and how movement plays a major role in every part of the game. Even double jumping will be important in some instances, such as when you are exploring high places with platforms and missing one means death. You can watch the video below. Wildstar beta registrations now open to all

Carbine Studios has opened Wildstar beta registration to all comers; you can get on board here. NCSoft told Destructoid that the beta won’t follow the usual weekend-only pattern, with testing periods expected to run for a week or more at a time. Wildstar is expected later this year; its conceit is that it offers a cartoony sci-fi world to explore with a kind of wild west feel. It hopes to offer long-term end-game value.

From a crappy campsite to a grand home, you can stay in a range of crazy, customisable dwellings. It’s not just for show either, as your home feeds into your character stats and crafting trees.

Wildstar to support player-authored add-ons

Wildstar lead client engineer Jon Wiesman has written a passionate blog for the upcoming MMORPG’s website in which he explains his frustrations with the learning curve of new programming environments. As a result, he vows to make it easy for anyone with a little programming knowledge to develop user interface add-ons. This is very exciting for some pretty nerdy and talented people. Carbine’s debut title was shown off at Gamescom last year but is yet to be dated.

New Wildstar interview focuses on humans, guns

A new interview on the Wildstar website has dropped new info on one of the three main classes introduced in the debut trailer of the Carbine title from gamescom last year, the humans. The interview touches on the lack of a homeland for the human people due to constant roaming, the mission from last summer’s trailer and guns. Lots of guns.

Wildstar interview focuses on Aurin, ears, tails

A new interview on the Wildstar website has shed some light on one of the MMO’s first races. The chat focuses on the Aurin, and features Liara – shown in the game’s first trailer at gamescom last year – talking about why her species has its unique ears and tail, details on her homeland and her role as a scientist.
