CoD: World at War Map Pack 3 video is infected with zombies

codwaw

A video for Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 3 has landed on IGN.

It’s more or less a music video featuring zombies and zombie dogs coming after everyone and getting shot and blown up in the process.

Rather entertaining.

The new DLC includes three new multiplayer maps and one zombie level.

It’s out in August.

Watch after the jump.

Acti announces 4 million World at War map DLC downloads

cod51b

Activision Blizzard has revealed that map packs for last year’s Call of Duty World at War have been downloaded 4 million times.

Only two map packs have been released so far, helping the shooter top the 11 million sales mark in June, reports GI.

Don’t fret though, at four new maps are on their way in a third map pack next month.

Awesome.

Four new Call of Duty: World at War maps deploying this August

callofduty5a51

Update: CoD: WaW’s official website has the first details on the new maps. Be warned, though, it’s behind an age gate, so if you’re part of our burgeoning audience of toddlers who are also WWII buffs, you’re out of luck. (Thanks, Enkeixpress.)

Just because Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is set to fulfill the prophecy as foretold by analysts and blot out the sun this fall doesn’t mean its predecessor can’t keep his royal Megaton’s seat warm until the big show. As such, four new Call of Duty: World at War maps are coming this August. Activision sent out a press release to herald their arrival.

“Battery,” “Revolution,” and “Breach” are — as expected — ripped straight from the history books, while “Der Riese” makes sure all the zombies that lost their un-lives during WWII aren’t forgotten.

That’s all for now. We’re sure Activision will release more details as the map pack’s launch date draws nearer.

Treyarch says game market isn’t saturated with zombies

worldatwar

Treyarch community lead Josh Olin feels that the game market is not saturated with zombies.

In fact, he says he could “play zombies for the rest of time.”

While promoting the upcoming Call of Duty: World at War map pack in a Giant Bomb podcast, Olin talked about his insatiable love for the undead and why it goes so well with the WWII setting.

“Out of fear of showing my zombie nerd-ism I will contend that zombies aren’t saturated at all. I could play zombies for the rest of time,” he said.

“But people thought that about the World War II genre, right — that that was saturated? And I think that with World at War at least our hope was that we would come out with something that was new and different that people haven’t been used to playing before.

“Hopefully that’s been proven by the success of these map packs.”

Long live zombies.
