Infinity Ward has announced double XP on all Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 playlists from May 23 through May 29. It looks like the bonus applies to all three platforms, but is likely related to the release of the second content collection on Xbox Live this week.

Activision has released screenshots for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Content Collection #2 as well as the behind-the-scenes preview video for the Face Off maps Aground and Erosion. The video, which was posted last week, was previously exclusive to IGN. Content Collection #2 launches on May 22 and also included Multiplayer/Survival Mode Maps, Special Ops Missions 1200 MS Points /$14.99. Premium Elite members can download the content on May 15. The two Face Off maps will be available on Xbox Live to Elite Premium members on May 15 as well and to everyone else on XBL May 16. All content will be available on PC and PS3 once the exclusivity period on 360 ends.

Sony will release a new PlayStation 3 bundle in the US on May 25, which packs in a 320GB console, one control pad, and a copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, for $299. The bundle is a kind of quick ticket straight into Call of Duty multiplayer, which Activision boasted has 40 million monthly average users. Now you know as much as we do. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is out now on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360; made $1 billion in 16 days; and hands out 5,000 day bans for being a dirty cheat.

MP1st received reports and a screenshot showing one Xbox Live member’s 5,000 day ban from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 – that’s almost 14 years. Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling confirmed the number isn’t an error. “If you see this message, it means you’ve been Permabanned (for something bad),” he explained.
