Activision donates $2 million to Call of Duty Endowment

Activision has forked over $2 million as a flat-out donation to Call of Duty Endowment, a charity it founded in 2009 to assist military veterans return to civilian life. Gamespot reports the donation comes on top of the $1.7 million the publisher raised through the sale of limited edition dog tags. The money will be awarded in grants to veterans’ employment organisations looking to open new branches.

The promotion covers PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, although please note that the sale won’t arrive on the European PSN until July 4.

Activision donates $3 million to the Call of Duty Endowment

In its press release detailing the banner sales of Modern Warfare 3, Activision also announced that it had donated $3 million to the Call of Duty Endowment which supports American servicemen and women, by providing job placement and training services for veterans. The monetary amount was added to the $2 million already donated by the firm to the Endowment, which has provided “more than $1.5 million in grants and scholarships to veterans’ organizations across the country” since CEO Bobby Kotick started the non-profit in November 2009.

The celebrate the release of Modern Warfare 2, Activision’s to donate $1 million to set up Call of Duty Endowment (CODE), a non-profit organisation designed to help American military vets get jobs and readjust to civilian life.
