Report – Call of Duty: Classic to re-release on PSN this week
TVGB are reporting that the PSN version of Call of Duty: Classic will get a US release this Thursday for $14.99.
Earlier tonight, the game was confirmed for an Xbox Live Arcade release on Wednesday for 1200 MS points.
A couple of weeks ago, during the launch week of Modern Warfare 2, Sony released the game for the European PlayStation Store. However, it was soon pulled.
Other then that, only people who have bought the Hardened or Prestige version of MW2 for either PS3 or 360 have got the game.
But now you can buy if you haven’t got neither SKU. Go nuts.
We’ll email Acti in the morning, and see if this applies to the UK as well.

Call of Duty: Classic gets XBLA release this week
Nelson’s confirmed that Call of Duty: Classic will be this week’s XBLA game, going for 1200 MS points.
If you have the Hardened and Prestige edition of Modern Warfare 2, you’ll probably already have it.
But for those of you who couldn’t afford £120 “stealth dogging/crusing” NVGs, in case you didn’t know, this is the remake of the original Call of Duty from way, way back in the day.
It was released on the PS Store a while back, but was then pulled soon after, so no date for the re-release yet.

Play – CoD Classic “equivalent” to 1,200MSP
According to this Modern Warfare 2 Hardened Edition listing on Play, the included voucher for Call of Duty: Classic has an “equivalent” value of 1,200MSP.
Things we don’t know:
- When it’ll be released separately on Live and PSN.
- Whether or not this is Play just making up a figure for a laugh.
Neither does anyone else, seemingly. We’ve dropped Acti a mail.
Thanks, CVG.

Call of Duty Classic to be released on XBL and PSN – eventually

Those who purchase the Modern Warfare 2 Hardened or Prestige editions will get a token to download Call of Duty Classic, and if you want the classic game but not MW2, you will just have to wait a bit.
Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling has confirmed to IGN that the game will be made available, eventually, to everyone via XBL and PSN as a stand-alone game with working multiplayer.
“Prestige and Hardened Edition buyers will be getting access to Call of Duty: Classic first,” he told the site. “It’ll eventually be coming out for both Xbox Live Arcade and PSN as a stand-alone arcade game.
“However, price and release date are unknown at this point. It’s the true original Call of Duty including full multiplayer.”
Hopefully those itching for it won’t have to wait too long once MW2 is released.
