Mastertronic will distribute a selection of Bethesda PC games to UK retail, the firm has announced. Titles Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition, RAGE: Anarchy Edition, Brink and Hunted: The Demon’s Forge will be distributed throughout the UK “at a great savings.”

GameStop is selling Splash Damage shooter Brink, brand spanking new, for 97p on Xbox 360. The Bethesda-published resistance-security title launched in May earlier this year for PS3, 360 and PC. You’d be utterly bonkers to not buy it at a quid. Go do it here.

To celebrated the launch of Brink’s Clans and Tournament features, Bethesda has announced that Brink will be free to play on Steam from today until Monday, December 5 at 10am PST. Anyone who plays during that time can also purchase the full game for 75% off.

Splash Damage has announced it’s close to releasing an update for Brink, which will bring full clan support, ladders and tournaments to all versions of the game. Currently in the final stages of testing, the update will be released for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 as “soon as it is complete.” For more information, as well as new screens of how the update will work, be sure and visit the Bethblog through here.

Organisers of the Writers Guild Awards have announced the nominations for the Best Videogame awards. Splash Damage’s Ed Stern for Brink, Ninja Theory’s Tameem Antoniades & film producer Alex Garland for Enslaved and ex-journo Kieron Gillen for The Curfew are all up for the award, which will be given out on November 16 at Notting Hill.

Valve’s updated Team Fortress 2 once again, with the latest update bringing Bethesda-related items to the game. Players will be able to get the Sniper’s Anger that comes from the resistance in Brink, the Soldier’s Original from Quake, the Engineer’s Pip-Boy from Fallout, a Wingstick from RAGE and a Tamrielic Relic based on Skyrim for the Heavy.

Brink’s first bit of DLC, Agents of Change will be released next week on August 3 for PS3, Steam, and Xbox 360 and will be free for two weeks. The DLC sees a ship from the outside world showing up and putting a bit of a snag in the peace agreement between the Resistance and Security. The underwater Labs Facility, and the Founder’s Tower where the Ark’s elite live, will be the two new battle zones. The level capo has been increased to 24, and new abilities, customization options and weapon attachments will be included in the DLC. Thanks, Gematsu.

Amazon UK’s blitzing prices on Brink, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Skate 3. The Splash Damage shooter is selling for just under £15 on PS3 and 360, with the PC version is going for under a tenner. The Platinum editions of Brotherhood, meanwhile, is selling at £12 on PS3 and 360. Skate 3 is selling for £13 on PS3 and 360. Spend some money. Help the economy. Play some new games. Everyone wins.

Nearly two months after the console versions and the retail SKU launched, Steam’s finally gone live with Brink. For those who haven’t bought the Splash Damage shooter for PC yet, it’s currently on a 25 percent discount, priced at £22.49. The game launched back in May for PS3 and 360, as well as on PC at retail, but unknown issues with Steam seen its release on the service mysteriously delayed until now. This comes before the release of brand new DLC Agents of Change. You can buy the game here.

As promised last week by Splash Damage, the player statistics site for Brink has gone live, and so far it is reporting more than a million matches, 10 billion XP points earned, and 80-years worth of combined player time.

As promised, Splash Damage has launched a new update for the PC version of Brink. The update will fix audio and memory bugs, graphical performance is improved as well as additional interface and server issues. PS3 and 360 updates will launch once its passed certification from both platform holders. Full patch notes are here.
