Farmville animated series inbound from X-Men director

20120414farmville

X-Men: The Last Stand director Brett Ratner has signed on to produce an animated TV series based on Farmville. Deadline reports production will be handled by Canadian company Six Eleven media. No network has picked up the series yet. Ratner’s also behind the Rush Hour series and the upcoming Hercules: The Thracian Wars; he described FarmVille as “one of the most exciting brands out there today” with “endless” cross-platform opportunities. An Angry Birds cartoon is moving forward this year, too.

Thanks, IGN.

No God of War movie in director Brett Ratner’s future

brettratner

Last fall, Brett Ratner said he would be bringing God of War’s Kratos to the big screen.

Looks like his plans have been shelved.

Instead, he’s to join forces once again with Chris Tucker in a swindle comedy called Trump Heist. Eddie Murphy’s in it, apparently.

God of War fans across the globe are now breathing a collective sigh of relief.

Jaffe: God of War movie may be “shit,” probably won’t be

David Jaffe’s responded to new that Brett Ratner’s going to be directing the God of War movie in video form, as is his wont. Basically, he’s good with it.

“Hey look: I don’t know how the movie’s going to turn out. It could be shit,” he said. “I don’t think it’s going to be shit when you do look at the pedigree of the people.”

So there we are. After the break. Watch it. He has a one-sided conversation with a Kotaku comment-poster called “JollyDwarf”. More developers should do what David does, frankly.

X-Men: The Last Stand, Rush Hour director working on God of War movie

godofwar.jpg

UGO recently nabbed a quick interview with (in) famous movie director Brett Ratner, who nonchalantly confirmed that a movie adaption of gib-and-nip-tastic action title God of War is currently getting off the ground.

Ratner’s blurt confirms recent industry whisperings about the film, so it’s probably not much of a stretch to guess that David Self is penning the script.

On the bright side, this also means that Ratner is presumably too busy to get his hands on a game story with some actual substance – which is quite a relief, we think.

Rumour: God of War movie gets script and director

According to this Worthplaying piece, the God of War movie project moved a step closer to reality this week, with news that a writer and director are now on board.

Apparently, David Self will write the script, with the movie being directed by Brett Ratner, known for the Rush Hour movies.

No source is given on that story, which says there’s no date fixed for work to start on the film.
