Bravely Default launches across Europe December 6 as digital download from Nintendo eShop or at retail as either a standalone packaged version and as part of the Bravely Default Deluxe Collector’s Edition. Today, Square Enix has released the launch trailer for it and you can watch it below. Bravely Default: For the Sequel lands during Q1 2014 in North America.

Bravely Default: For the Sequel developer Square Enix has detailed and screened a handful of cross-over boss encounters from Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light. The game will also some with day-one costume DLC that you’ll get for free.

Bravely Default will be released in Europe by the end of 2013, via an enhanced edition for 3DS. Basically it’s For The Sequel, which is what it’s called in Japan. It includes improvements to the original game including graphical polish, animated characters during conversations, an improved user interface, and three new difficulty levels and the ability to adjust enemy encounter rates. Players can choose between the Japanese or the new English audio tracks, while any on-screen text can also be displayed in French, Italian, German or Spanish. An English voice trailer is below.

Square Enix has made a number of trademarks which seem related to Bravely Default: Flying Fairy, suggesting it is contemplating a sequel. A Japanese blog spotted the publisher’s freshly-registered local trademarks for Bravely Second and Bravely Third. The 3DS exclusive RPG looks to be headed west at last in updated re-release Bravely Default: For the Sequel, which Square Enix has developed as a test to see if there is demand for a second game.

Square Enix seems to have quietly announced a western release for Bravely Default: For the Sequel, an enhanced re-release of 3DS RPG Bravely Default: Flying Fairy, which was not localised.

Bravely Default: For the Sequel has been announced in the latest issue of Weekly Jump. While not a direct sequel, the game contains additions to the original, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy game. According to the translation posted by Gematsu, the more souped-up edition contains reformed controls, quad-speed mode, and an auto-battle mode with three save points and selectable difficulty. The game can also use data saved from the original game. The game’s release is to help drum up interest for a true sequel, according to the scan translation. Bravely Default: For the Sequel will launch on December 5 in Japan for ¥4,990 retail and ¥2,900 as a digital download.
