Borderlands 2 has been updated, and with it, comes: the new difficulty mode Ultimate Vault Hunter; new items for the Black Market; new upgrades to backpack storage; upgraded bank capacity; the usual bug fixes, plus some game and mission fixes. It’s out now on Steam, and PCgamesN has the full patch notes.

Borderlands will be turned into an animated short film as part of a collaboration between 2K Games, Gearbox Software and students at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

Remember the Borderlands 2 character DLC tease from last week? Well, we have it again for you, but it’s not off-screen this time. The DLC was teased during SXSW, and it appears to be a melee-based character. Gearbox said the character isn’t part of the Borderlands 2 Season Pass, and 2K said the reveal will take place at PAX East next weekend. Enjoy your 43 second below.

Borderlands 2 has been available for pre-order for a while through the European end of PSN, but now those in the US can get in on the digital action if they choose. According to the latest Blogcast on the US PS Blog, those in the US can download the game the day it launches in the region. It will run you $59.99, same as a retail copy but since you can’t pre-order it in the US on PSN, you won’t get in on the Premiere Club end of it those in Europe will. Borderlands 2 is out September 18 in the US and on September 21 in the UK for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Borderlands 2 co-op footage has appeared, and in it, two members of Gearbox’s development team play the game as Randy Pitchford discusses the shooter with Gamespot AU. You can watch it below, and since it lasts just over an hour, you may wish to toss the roast in the oven first, or something. Borderlands 2 is out next month on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
